Why we exist

Since time eternal, people have been able to communicate on their own terms, without interruption or interference. There were no security backdoors in telegrams, no metadata breaches on the Pony Express, and no ads embedded in smoke signals. Somewhere between now and then, we lost our way.

As much as our technology has improved, the leaders of our industry have kept pace in complicating the process of communication, primarily out of greed and fear.

Entefy stands defiantly in the face of greed and fear.

Let’s talk about greed. We are a for-profit enterprise, and we make no bones about it. But we’re not going to make a dime by polluting your conversations with advertising you didn’t ask for. We’ll make our money the old-fashioned way: by providing a service worth paying for. With apologies to Wall Street’s Gordon Gekko, greed is not good. It can stifle real advancement and is frankly, a bad reason to do anything.

Now let’s talk about fear. It’s scary. That’s kind of the point. But there’s healthy fear and there’s being overcome with it. We think that fear has infiltrated technology and communication to a detrimental level. Having your conversations mined by hackers, advertisers, providers, and governments used to be a potential hazard of communicating digitally. Now it’s the norm. We think there’s something very wrong with that.

We’re a young company, and we acknowledge that so much will inevitably change as we grow. We have a vision for what communication can and should be, but we can’t predict the future. We do know, however, that everything Entefy builds, does, and says will not be motivated by greed and fear, but by the desire to deliver clear, simple, and powerful ways to connect and communicate–it’s why we exist.

Entefy’s core product is being developed and we’d love to tell you all about it. But that’s for another time. Right now, you can be sure of two things: it will not contain ads that siphon or interrupt your communications, and it will not sell or distribute your data to anybody. Period.

In reality, our competition is not other communication, storage, or search companies.

Our competition is Greed and Fear.

And we’re determined to win.
